Couture Crushin: Kylie Cosmetics Kyshadow Palette Review

Couture Crushin: Kylie Cosmetics Kyshadow Palette Review

Okay first of all, I have to say I was really impressed with the packaging. That is actually what first attracted me to buying in. I'm all about the visuals, and visually pleasing things can easily draw me in. The picture above is the packaging for the eye shadow palette.

Sorry to be abit out of order but here is what it looks like when you open the box. Look at this cute holographic card it comes with! I'm really loving the emphasis on these eyes. The whole monochromatic design is really clean and chic. Now on to what the palette itself looks like.

I really love how each part of the packaging is a different variation in design. I couldn't even get myself to throw away the packaging.

Here are swatches of the colors on my arm in slightly different lighting. I really wish I could show the colors better, because trust me they look much better/more pigmented in real life. Out of the nine colors two of them are shimmering and the rest are matte. Now on for the real review and opinion on this palette. I know most of you are curious to whether this palette is worth is steep price. For me, in the end, I think it was worth it because personally I love the colors. I also love matte and most eye shadow palettes I've seen consist of mostly colors with shimmer. I also use brown shadows for my everyday makeup and so this palette would definitely be something I can use everyday. The palette itself is also really versatile, as I've used the dark brown for my eyebrows and as a eyeliner. In addition, to being able to use it on a day to day basis, the matte makes for great smokey eye looks, both night and day smokey eyes. I would probably end up using this more than even my Urban Decay Naked Palettes (which I only use for special occasions because the colors are so shimmery).

Now with everything out there, there will always be dupes and cheaper drugstore brands that you can buy and I think you do pay for Kylie's name for this palette. But, that doesn't mean the quality of the palette isn't good. So far using it I've been happy with it, and I didn't have any palette that was close enough in similarity so  colors don't double up. If you already have tons of palettes and brown shades, or you aren't a huge fan of matte colors, I would say there's no reason to buy the palette (unless maybe you're a huge Kylie fan).

In terms of pigmentation, I found no difference in comparison with other colors I've used. I did find the concistency to be abit harder to blend than my other palettes, but that's the only con I've noticed so far. I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed that or is it just me? Regardless, I've been able to do really nice smokey eyes with the colors. The colors complement each other really well, so you can combine and layer shades all you want. The looks you can create with this one palette is endless.

Here are some looks on my eye that I tested out, this one I've used the first four colors of the palette.

I wish I could show the colors better, but this is the best I was able to do with my camera.

Let me know if any of you have bought the palette and tried it out! What do you think? Do you agree with my experience or perhaps it was different for you?
