Winter Monochrome

I hope everyone had a great christmas and now basically going exactly opposite of the holiday colors is this monochrome outfit. The only thing not monochrome about it is my dark burgundy bag. I couldn't completely go monochrome. I know I usually wear lots of colors, prints, basically the opposite of minimalistic, but here I'm a bit more simple (in my own way).

I styled this outfit around this black and white striped knit skirt. I fell in love with this skirt the moment I saw it, actually last year, and I never had the chance to wear it until now.  The design of the skirt has great shape and movement while still keeping a simplicity. Another interesting part of the skirt is that its a extremely high waisted skirt. It goes over my entire stomach! Because of my top you can't tell but if I styled it differently with a more cropped shirt or tucked in top it would create an entirely new look and feel.

I also noticed how my hair complements this outfit as well since it's red brown. It not only matches my bag (which I didn't really realize until after) but if I had black hair this outfit would've turned out really dark. I like how there's still a balance maintained.

I also love the small details of these pumps. From the front it just looks like another pair but turn to the side and you can see the heels have a chunky shape and it's white, so it really went well with the skirt and the rest of the outfit.
